Medtronic Lung GPS Oncology Navigation Software
Architected Medtronic’s clinical oncology application that helps doctors, nurses and technicians navigate patients through the lung cancer pathway—from ER to treatment.
User Pathway Modeling
Beginning with the industry-standard pathway for oncology diagnosis and treatment, led research with team of cancer clinic practitioners in four hospitals around the country to produce detailed user flows for all clinical users of the system. Research included user problem interviews, workflow analysis and auditing a lung conference where the medical care team of nurses and doctors review patient test results and consult on prognosis and care procedures.
System Interoperability
Conducted extensive research alongside Medtronic’s development team to define functional requirements of the system, including integration with clinical imaging, EMR and insurance systems.
Screen Architecture
Due the extensive amount of information that must be managed by the user, comprehensive screen and information architectures were produced to ensure all key notifications, patient data and system functions were conveniently accessible and intelligible. These served as further detail for the engineering team’s system design document.
